KNOXVILLE, Tenn.: The Tombras Group was named Advertising Agency of Record for Malibu Boats. The towboat industry leader is celebrating its 30th anniversary this year with three special edition boats, launched at the annual Malibu Open August 3-5 in Milwaukee, Wis.

“We’re proud of how far we’ve come in the past 30 years, from building 100 ski boats out of a small shop to being the No. 1 watersports towboat manufacturer in the world – and the future looks even brighter,” said Malibu CEO Jack Springer.

The company recently unveiled Surf Gate, its proprietary wakesurfing innovation. The wave-making feature eliminates the need to empty ballasts in order to switch sides and enables riders to cross the wave to perform previously impossible maneuvers.

Since its inception, Malibu has received 19 “Boat Of The Year” awards, 31 Product Excellence awards and has broken 19 world records with its Response series. Malibu is the world’s top-selling towboat manufacturer, approaching 30 percent of market share in its category.
